This is request for information from other Audi owners. I have a 2000 A6 2.8 that I take good care of. Providing I keep up with the scheduled service program...how long can I expect to keep this car on the road? Most folks in my neck of the woods are driving a new car every 3 yrs, so I have no basis for judgement.

Hehe John, my Audi 80e 2.8 saloon is registered since 1992 and I clocked up 245,000 miles. It has the original V6 engine, gear box, and clutch. I need to replace the two catalyst now as they are shot. But apart from general running costs she is sound for her age. My only gripe is the spares are expensive.
I am trawling Audi breakers here in the UK for the Cats, but might have to buy new ones if I can't locate the right ones I need. So tell me about your AUDI Greetings from Oxford Uk. Martin. |

Keep in mind 1998 to 2000 A6 2.8 models had some concerns with fuel sending units. This was due in part of the sulphur content in U.S. gas. As long as this is in check and you do the maintainences ... you should have the car for quite a long time ....
